5 STEP NATURAL SKIN CARE ROUTINE
Share
Do this routine once or twice a month for 45 minutes to an hour for healthier, glowing skin.
Step 1: Exfoliate. Lightly cleanse the face and neck with grains (recipe found below). Use grains to gently massage and stimulate the skin. This will remove dead skin cells and increase circulation to the surface of the skin. Rinse off with warm water.
1 cup ground oats
2 cups white clay
1/8 cup ground rose petals
1/8 cup ground lavender
Store in the refrigerator or cool, dry space
Mix 1 tablespoon with warm water, rose water, or honey and gently exfoliate the skin.
Step 2: Herbal Face Steam. Use facial steams for deep pore cleansing.
Boil a pot of water, add herbs of choice, and remove the pot from the stove. Place the pot a safe distance away from your body and drape a towel over your head and pot. Steam for 8 to 10 minutes, removing the towel or raising the towel to release heat when necessary. After steaming, rinse your face with cold water and gently pat it using rose water or another hydrosol. Pat your face dry.
Step 3: Face mask. Use a mask to stimulate circulation, tone, and firm the skin.
-For dry skin, use white clay
-Use red, yellow, or green clay for normal to oily skin since it is more drying. These clays are great for blemishes and have been used to treat bee stings, poison oak, ivy, and insect bites.
Honey is great for facials on all skin types. It is a natural humectant (attracts moisture), cleanses, and moisturizes.
Method 1: Mix clay with water to make a paste. The thicker the clay, the more drying the face mask will be. Leave the mask on until it completely dries, then gently rinse with warm water.
Method 2: Ensure your skin is completely dry before applying a honey mask. Massage honey into the skin before rinsing. Honey creates a deep, warm glow.
Add a small amount of almond or grapeseed oil to personalize if you want a more personalized face mask.
Step 4: Use toner. Mist or pat on toner using a cotton pad.
For dry skin, try rose water
.
Step 5: Massage in body butter or oil. Massage oil or butter into the skin using sweeping motions moving up and away from the face. Finally, mist with a hydrosol and apply a few drops of serum using the same methods.
